They have morphed into one. I do not trust government. Period. You say government is our only weapon, I say you were handed a :how to do manual..(oops we were handed) it was the sage advice of our founders. THEY didn’t trust government. They warned us it would be vigilance and mistrust which would preserve our freedoms. You trivialize government misconduct.
“Experience hath shewn, that even under the best forms of government those entrusted with power have, in time, and by slow operations, perverted it into tyranny”
“A wise and frugal government, which shall leave men free to regulate their own pursuits of industry and improvement, and shall not take from the mouth of labor the bread it has earned – this is the sum of good government.”
My reading of history convinces me that most bad government results from too much government.
Never spend your money before you have earned it.

Messr Thomas Jefferson… and you will find equally scathing attacks on banks, unfettered commerce…but that is your domain and expertise. It is the co-joining of the two into one that is merciless. As to unions…I advocate for them…. they are free associations. Until they use that association to thwart good, sound governance.
