Our beloved Guila, the pillar of the PNW swim community, is celebrating her 70th birthday and community at Alki Beach, which also unofficially signifies the start of the summer swim season! There’s usually sun, it’s usually an awesome time with friends, there’s always great swimming… it’s going to be epic and we would love to have all of everyone join, swimmers, friends, family, neighbors, community members, you name it, Thurs invited!

Who:
Guila! It’s her birthday, she’s the birthday girl, it’s her day!

What:
A birthday party to celebrate community. Guila wants to share this day with everyone, so please join and invite anyone you’d like! 🌼

When:
Sunday, March 30th starting at 11:00 am for swimming, eating, and fun!

Where:
Alki Beach Bathhouse – 2701 Alki Ave SW
We will probably migrate to the lawn or beach area if we are able to find a fire pit or have a portable one. We’ll start at our usual place, you won’t miss us if you move. We’re the big group of swimmers.

Why:
It’s simple, because we love Guila!

What to Bring:
This will be a potluck style event. Rule of thumb, bring something you love to share with others (so if it doesn’t get eaten, you can take it home and eat it). Beverages are on your own as well, camping/beach chair if you like, and if anyone has a folding card table or anything else that may be helpful, that would be great!

What if it rains?
Rain never hurt swimmers and we will figure it out with a tent or pop-up shelter to cover the food. Any day with Guila, food, and friends will be a warm day. 🌧️

Can I invite my family or a friend?
Absolutely! Guila has touched so many hearts in the community, we want this to be a celebration of her and everything wonderful about people coming together. 🤗

Should I bring a gift?

Guila is not expecting any gifts 🎁 , just you and a smile (and food).
