This Thursday March 21st, 6-9 pm, the Fixers Collective will be conducting a timely theme of prepping garden tools and wheel barrows for the season. Tool sharpening of digging and cutting tools, tine straightening and wheel barrow repairs like tire patching, lube and carriage bolt replacement will be performed.

Donations of $5 for members and $10 for the public would offset the cost of repairs. The Fixers Collective meets at the West Seattle Tool Library (in the Youngstown Cultural Arts Center).

In the broadest sense, a Fixers’ Collective is a group of folks who love to fix and mend things, which could be any old thing from broken blenders to ripped sweaters to antique dentist drills. Take it apart, put it back together, figure out how it works, refuse to throw it away, and get to know others who do the same! What the collective works on depends entirely on who shows up but you can be rest assured that there will be plenty of creativity involved. Adding to this fun, The Tool Library also brings together some experienced DIY coaches who are willing to answer any questions that you may have on your current projects, future plans, or anything else you liked to discuss. Our coaches have expertise in a variety of areas, including solar power, water harvesting, green architecture & building, permaculture, and urban gardening.

These open and informal community meetups offer an opportunity to bounce project ideas off fellow DIYers and maybe receive some advice in the process, if you like. It’s also a great time to show off what you’ve been working on.From small little blenders to entire home renovations, these meetups offer you a chance to explore all of sorts of DIY fixes!
