I was up there early this morning speaking about colony collapse disorder with Roy the beekeeper from Tahuya River Apiaries who was recently profiled in an article in Seattle Metropolitan magazine. Today he is selling black locus honey which you can only get every five years or so (when the black locus flowers) so it is pretty special. If you’re into honey (maybe drizzled over a piece of hot Bakery Nouveau baguette slathered with butter) then it is definitely worth a try.

OK, I’m going to have to go down and take a picture of that!!!! Thanks for mentioning it … I somehow have missed the market for more than a few Sundays because of all the big summer events we’ve been covering or participating in – TR

Heading over to the WSFM to check out that honey, we just wound up going wild. We’d decided a few days ago we didn’t have enough fruits/vegetables in our family diet anyway. So Junior Member of the Team and I not only came away with a decent-sized jar of the honey Christopher mentioned for $7.50, but also a spectacular head of lettuce from Willie’s (northwest corner) for $3, wonderful sweetheart cherries (not too sweet), some humongous boysenberries, and a bottle of raspberry apple cider. And this was at 1:40 pm when some vendors were already sold out or wrapping up … Definitely looking forward to next week.

Sorry, comment time is over.
