Video feature: West Seattle Food Bank follow-up

Two weeks have zoomed by since we brought you the West Seattle Food Bank’s request for your help this holiday season. Lots of great response so far – and room for more – literally … take a look inside the WSFB cooler; we did, during a visit to interview WSFB executive director Fran Yeatts, who narrates:

Frozen turkeys and other Thanksgiving-dinner donations will help the most people if you get them to the Food Bank by the end of next week. Meantime, Fran also told us something you probably don’t know about the people the WSFB serves:

If you’d like to give the West Seattle Food Bank money, you can donate online at their site. For donations in person, as mentioned in our original post, there are many drop sites around town, or you can take food directly to the WSFB during their regular hours — 9 am to 3 pm M-F (till 7 pm on Wednesday) — they say Mondays and Fridays are the optimal days for dropoffs. They’re in the West Seattle Community Resource Building at 35th/Morgan (map).

As the President of the Baord of Directors for WSFB the board cannot thank you enough for helping us get the word out about the need in our community. Thanks for all of the great work that is being done in West Seattle to help folks in need.

Fran Yeatts is one of the people I respect most in this city; she does an amazing job with the WS Food Bank. I hope that people who are typically quite cynical regarding “handouts” for those in need actually take the time to listen to Fran’s comments regarding who their clients are.

Sorry, comment time is over.
