KIRO 7 just announced Seattle Public Schools are 2 hours late. Has anyone driven from Alki up Admiral Way this am???

does anyone know what Admiral Hill and the bridge look like? I have to drive to Tacoma, does anyone know how it looks down there?

We have just started that post for ALL morning commute info, not just schools, though this will remain up as a comprehensive school-info list. Thanks.

WSB–you’re amazing. Thanks for helping out us parents. :) I know our teens are counting on an updated forecast this morning…we’ll have to wait and see. I’m such a chicken when it comes to driving these hilly roads (flat ones, too–I confess) when it’s icy or there’s even a spot of snow.

We received a recorded message from SPS on ALL of our phone lines starting at 5:40 this morning. That is a nice improvement, I must say. Now – does anyone know where to find info on the snow routes online? Of course I can’t find the info that was sent in the beginning of the year…

That’s not too bad a lag – by most accounts they made the decision (or announced it, at least) around quarter till 5. As far as I can tell (and I looked for it last night) they don’t have the snow routes listed online. I will verify that with SPS communications and ask what’s the preferred method for folks who can’t find what was sent home months earlier.

Our Lady of Guadalupe is also on a late schedule: Starts at 10:30am and no pre-k or morning kindergarten.

Ellenater, thank you, I actually had them listed overnight in a different post and didn’t copy it over, obviously – yikes! readding now.

I got the recorded message that Seattle Public Schools are two hours late. It also said no a.m. or p.m. kindergarten. This may be a dumb question, but does this mean there is no all-day kindergarten either??

  • add December 15, 2008 (8:47 am)

No – regular all day K is on 2-hour late. They cancel the half-day K during late start.

    thanks!
