Profile of the writer/rocker taking over the ex-Beveridge Place Pub

When we broke the news last week about Zeeks Pizza moving into the ex-Corner Inn, somebody asked about the ex-Beveridge Place Pub next door (vacated when BPP moved a few steps north to the ex-Video Vault); we published this blurb about that three months ago, but we didn’t include anywhere near the amount of info about co-proprietor Jeff Gilbert that you’ll find in the P-I profile published this afternoon. (Not too much in there about the Feedback Lounge, though, save Gilbert’s description of it as a “rock ‘n’ roll bar.”

great little article. I am counting the days until the Feedback opens! FYI for all of you monster/slasher/B-movie fans out there, the Mansplat crew wrote a couple of great review books: Drinkin’ & Drive-in vols 1 & 2 – excellent reads!

Ugh. Put me down in the “less than enthusiastic” column. Being a neighbor on nearby Graham st., I can already imagine the increased noise, parking and litter that comes with the hard-rocking and hard-drinking set. There’s obviously no parking on California, so all the Bev. Place patrons are currently spilling over to our street. So far, they’ve been pretty good. However, as was evidenced “back in the day” when Chuck and Sally’s was still going, the folks heading home with a full belly of beer are often loud and obnoxious. Guess we’ll see, but I suspect me and police dispatch will be best friends.

    Chuck
