UPDATE: House fire south of The Junction

8:18 PM: Thanks for the tip. Seattle Fire has a full response at a house in the 5000 block of 49th SW [vicinity map]. Updates to come.

8:21 PM: We’re en route. SFD says the fire is under control.

8:37 PM: They’re dismissing some of the responding units. As seen in our photo, no smoke visible now. An SFD lieutenant told us no one’s been hurt and preliminary indication is that this might have started as a kitchen fire; they’re investigating.

9:10 PM: Four units remain logged to the scene; the fire is out.

I live at the the end of 50th & Alaska and it sounded like they just kept coming down that hill. I looked up the 911 calls to see just where it was at. Glad that it was contained and the whole place did not go up. I know this is a busy stretch of road where this happened. Our Fire Depts are really good here in WS.

8:30AM Mass is offered on the first Saturday every month by the Holy Name Society and Seattle Archdiocese for our firefighters, police and First Responders at Blessed Sacrament Church, just off I-5 in the U-Distrlct at 5050 8th Ave NE. All welcome to come and pray.
