UPDATE: West Seattle low bridge malfunctions for second consecutive night

7:48 PM: Thanks to the commenter who mentioned this: The West Seattle low bridge is experiencing malfunctions again tonight. This time, SDOT says, the bike and foot path is usable, but the bridge is closed to vehicles. We had asked SDOT today what caused last night’s two-hour closure and have yet to receive that information.

8:29 PM: Just checked the live traffic camera – the bridge is open again.

Two nights in a row. Glad I’m not commuting home after a long workday.Any follow up on the cause(s)?SDOT ought to post an informational sign at the bridge gate showing the suggested bike friendly route down to the First Ave bridge and the trail back up.

As noted, I asked yesterday about the Wednesday cause and by day’s end had only received an acknowledgment. Now expanding the inquiry to two days.
