UPDATE: Rescue response for crash on Beach Drive

12:32 PM: Seattle Fire is sending a “rescue extrication” response to the 6000 block of Beach Drive SW [map], where a driver initially was reported to have hit a parked car that had two people inside, but the SFD dispatch now describes it as “car into house.” Updates to come.

12:38 PM: Firefighters say everyone’s out of the car – which they say is “on the sidewalk” – so they’re reducing the response.

12:48 PM: SFD has completely closed its response; police have called for two tow trucks.

I saw a motorcycle patrol today, before noon, near the post office. So traffic patrol is starting, surely limited, but indeed starting. This ought to keep the speeds downwhich is certainly the cause of most accidents.

They’ve been at other places for many weeks. Admiral turns up regularly (the hill to/from the bridge, in particular). They’ve even been back a few times to California/Thistle here in Upper Fauntleroy, where drivers routinely run the 4-way stop.

Glad to hear that! Driving use to be fun, but now it is increasingly stressful and dangerous as I see so many high speed actions and flat out disregard for basic traffic laws and courtesy. Thanks.

It is hard going the speed limit as cars speed up on you either forcing you to pull over or go faster.   We want to go the speed limit, however don’t want trouble from someone behind us either.   We do pull over when safe to do so.   35, 40, 45 down Admiral Hill according to sign.   Seems to be everywhere.   We are thankful police are once again monitoring this  Thank you.
