ORCAS: Transient killer whales passing this way again (early evening update)

12:13 PM: As Kersti Muul observes, we’ve had transient orcas in the area for the better part of three weeks. And now they’re back in view, currently southbound across the Seattle/Bainbridge ferry lanes, she tells us. Let us know if you see them! (And we always appreciate photos.)

5:17 PM: As noted in comments, a big group is now northbound from north Blake Island.

Very distant view through my scope as they passed the southern tip of Bainbridge around 12:30, as viewed from up above Weather Watch Park.

    Where was there last location?

As of 4:50 they are just off the NE end of Blake Island, as seen from Constellation Park.

There are now 17 whales northbound off the North end of Blake Island 5:10

At 7:30, we saw one or possibly more whales blowing off of Magnolia in the distance. I presume it or they were not Humpback but more likely killer whales given the previous posts.

Sorry, comment time is over.
