Amazing they are alive after a shot to the chest.  Hopefully they are able to make a full recovery.

Is this the same complex where 3 men got out of a car and unloaded automatic weapons at the building???

Drug house right on the corner.  And so  much for Rob Saka cleaning up West Seattle. Look at ROxbury Auto parts!  Come on.

Roxbury Auto Parts is outside the city limits.

Saka is only ONE vote on the Council and Seattle police are short 700+ officers. Laws in this state have been recently changed to empower violent criminals. You and I probably have just as much influence on cleaning up Seattle as he does at this point.

Like what?  They rolled back the restriction on high speed pursuits without cause.  Are you arguing that police are violent criminals or is there some other law you’re referencing?

K, the Olympia Democrats banned pursuits WITH cause: stolen vehicles, jewelry store thieves, residential burglaries, etc, couldn’t be pursued EVEN IF CAUGHT IN THE ACT. That’s why the horrific pursuit ban was rolled back by the very same Democrat lawmakers who wrote and sponsored the original pursuit ban.

“Laws in this state have been recently changed to empower violent criminals.” source?

I mean, I voted for the “give every felon a free gun” initiative last election, didn’t you?

Bbron, the source is the 2020/21 legislative session. Wow.

Funny, when Herbold was on the council SHE was solely to blame for each and every thing wrong in Seattle. Now that Saka is there, HE is only one voice among many and shouldn’t be singled out. Blatant hypocrisy is blatant.

I agree. They need to smash the old auto parts store down. There’s stripped out cars all over. Spray paint on every surface. The older homeless guy I used to see may be in there.I haven’t seen him outside for a while.

I have been told by several city officials that we only have 600 officers on the streets in instead of the 2000 that we should have.  The numbers that people are hearing include the officers that are on sickleave that work in offices and that are using up there sick and vacation time before they retire. We are desperately low on officers, who would want the thankless job where they are not allowed to enforce the law in fear of being reprimanded! I have heard this directly from several officers who continue to look for jobs outside of Seattle.

    • Hire from the city October 23, 2024 (9:11 pm)

Hire from the city. One way to enact reforms is to have police officers who want to work here. After 5 years on the job get down payment assistance which is forgiven at 10 years. Another is to allocate police where crime is rather than by city.

Sorry, comment time is over.
