Alki Point Lighthouse tour season to start later this month

Again this spring/summer, the historic Alki Point Lighthouse will open for free weekly tours, as announced today:

Alki Point Lighthouse Tour Season starts May 26th

U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary volunteers will be offering free lighthouse tours most Sunday afternoons between Memorial Day weekend and Labor Day weekend. (No tours June 16th.)

First visitors enter the site at 1 p.m. Last tour begins at 3:45.

    Does anyone know if the light house grounds are open to the public?  I’ve never considered going to relax on the grass since I assumed it was closed to the public.

      No, it is not open to the public aside from these seasonal weekly tours.

      And the grass is off limits, even during the tours, because the buildings are living quarters for Coast Guard staff.

    Where is there parking  if we want to take this tour?
