It wasn’t all fireworks

The fireworks some set off after the Seahawks‘ Monday Night Football victory over Philadelphia (20-17) less than half an hour ago spawned some “possible gunfire” calls to 911. However, in one case, it was actual gunfire. Dispatch sent officers to a home in the Westwood area where a resident reported a bullet piercing a wall; police have reported back to dispatch that it was “confirmed bullet damage.”

I heard lots of noise in the upper Alki area. Sounded like gunfire but who knows…

Yet another reason why fireworks violations should be taken seriously and prosecuted to the full extent of the law.

People are idiots and also are drunk or stoned and think it’s hilarious to shot off guns and cannons during football games and around the 4th of July and other times they are celebrating for random stuff in their lives.

Just wanted to say – this was the best title to an article for this area. I needed the laugh today.

On a serious note, we’re near Westwood and heard what we thought was a mixture of gunshots and fireworks, but we weren’t sure. I hate how much gun violence there is and it feels like it has been getting worse in the last couple of years especially.

Sending everyone good wishes and hope we all stay safe out here.

Gunshots at 25th and Barton at 2:30 am. Car was heard racing away and a woman yelling. At least 4 people called 911 to report

Sorry, comment time is over.
