UPDATE: Hazmat response at Arrowhead Gardens

12:38 PM: SFD has a hazmat response at the Arrowhead Gardens senior-living complex in southeast West Seattle right now. According to the dispatch, they’re checking out “white powder” found in a hallway, possibly related to a dispute between neighbors; police have responded too. No reports of injuries.

1:32 PM: All but two SFD units have been dismissed.

1:52 PM: SFD says that “the substance was determined (to be) not hazardous” and everyone’s been cleared.

A ton of response to this situation, taken away from others who may need services, all because people can’t get along. Grow up. Whomever caused this should be evicted.

Sad but true…social media has destroyed people’s self restrait in the real world.

There’s plenty of people never on social media that have this behavior.

Agreed but social media has made it much worse lowering the bar for everyone’s public persona.  Sad.

Woah, you realize this is a low-income senior living community, right? We don’t know the whole situation, nor did the blog confirm what is true yet.

And what if they have dementia or something, do you still think they oughta get booted?

Woah, then assisted living isn’t for them if they have dementia. They belong in a memory care center, NOT on their own endangering people an and wasting responders time, which is our money.

Glad this was taken seriously due to age and physical abilities of people living there. I’m sure it will be given to the complex council members and dealt with also

    Dispute between neighbors? Geez.

Am I reading this article differently than others? It says that the powder may ‘possibly’ be connected to a dispute between neighbors. It could have just been from an old lady dropping her powder in the hallway.  Relax.

I would say this has more to do with elderly folks being shut in most of the day and evening tuned in to FOX News as their only source of information. So, *of course* white powder found in a hallway after a neighborly dispute is going to be “suspicious.” It’s so sad how far we’ve devolved into fear of one another. In all likelihood, the “powder” was flour or some other substance that was accidentally dropped by someone who wasn’t involved at all. I feel sad for all of them.

Mr alki you are a big Pain in the butt. We all pay for the same things so if we need it’s there for everyone not just for you.

Sorry, comment time is over.
