WSB FYI: Looking for employment or employee(s)? Free local job listings

Looking for a job that’s close to home? The WSB West Seattle Jobs Offered section of our community forums has lots of new listings – 19 local jobs listed in just the past week – so we’re publishing one of our periodic reminders, in case you were unaware of its existence. For local businesses/organizations, it’s free to post a job. You do need a (free) log-in for the forum section – and if you don’t already have one, you can get that here. You don’t need a log-in to browse the section if you’re looking for work, though – just go here.

Personally this is the first I knew of this posting. I think it is great for the community as many want to work in West Seattle if possible.

Please require posters to list a salary range.  Otherwise, it’s just a waste of time for job seekers.

    Featured snippet from the web

Washington State law (RCW 49.58. 110) requires employers to “disclose in each posting for each job opening”: The wage scale or salary range for the position. A general description of all other compensation to be offered to the hired applicant.

. . . for companies of 15 or more employees.

Many of the small businesses in West Seattle who use these forums to recruit wouldn’t be required to under the law.  However, job seekers are more likely to apply for a job if they know the compensation ahead of time, so it would be to an employer’s advantage to post it, even if not required.

I found both my half-time jobs on the WSB, and I love them both.  It’s a perfect situation for me, and all in walking distance from home.  Thank you!
