SEEN OFF WEST SEATTLE: Submarine, outbound

Thanks to the readers who sent photos of that submarine as it passed West Seattle, northbound, just after 9 am today. MarineTraffic.com identifies it only as “submarine,” currently off Edmonds, still northbound.

    Hull shape shows it is a ballistic (or guided) missile submarine (SSBN/SSGN) type vice a fast attack submarine (SSN) type. Cannot identify specifically which submarine as no hull number is shown.

      Yep, that’s a boomer. No doubt about it. Love seeing these posts. Our underpaid and overworked sailors keeping our country safe!

        Agreed. Thank them for their service when you see these folks. Spend months under and out to sea to keep us safe.
