Pedestrian hit near Roxbury Lanes

Thanks for the tips about a large emergency response by Roxbury Lanes. Responders on the scene tell us a man was walking at the south end of the bowling alley/casino parking lot when a driver hit him. The victim is being taken to the hospital for evaluation, but his injuries are not believed to be life-threatening. The driver is being questioned by deputies.

Suggest changing headline of story (change ‘by’ to ‘near’) since it reads a little funny after the headline of the story just above on the homepage. 😉

Not trying to suggest blame anywhere, but maybe the Blog could put out a PSA to  pedestrians and bicyclists, especially since the trees on California are starting to leaf out again producing deep shade.I’ve had many cases where people were dressed completely, head to toe, in black clothing making them basically invisible while in the shaded parts of the street.  One person, a few days ago, was on an electric bike, black, dressed all in black and I didn’t see them until they made a right turn and  got out into the bike lane of the street I was going down.Maybe something like; “Don’t be a sidewalk ninja” or similar?

When we drove by hours after it happened about 1/3 of the parking lot was taped-off and several police vehicles were still there. A small red car was resting on top of a collapsed chainlink fence immediately south of the parking lot.

Sorry, comment time is over.
