4:12 PM: Thanks for the tip. Avoid 35th/Morgan for a while – a crash is reported to be blocking two lanes. No SFD dispatch so far, but police are there. They’re calling for SDOT to clean up debris.
4:35 PM: That scene is reported to be cleared. But now police have told dispatch that the signal is flashing at Delridge/Spokane (the 5-way).
5:05 PM: The backup from that is big, we’re hearing via Twitter – one driver says getting through the area took 40 minutes.
People seem to have generally figured out how to manage the flashing red at the 5-way, but it is very, very slow to get through. Definitely avoid approaching from any direction.
This is some BS. This bridge closure and barely anything done to remedy an already bad situation is wearing me down day by day. I’m in this traffic at a 5 way light that is blinking red with no traffic officers guiding. Traffic is backed up for miles both directions. Been here for awhile. Doesn’t seem to be a priority while other small unnecessary road construction is. Why isn’t more being done to get us through another year of this mess. We need 2 lanes in and out and not the single lanes we are restricted too. They should revise Delridge and Chelan intersection and temporarily fix this mess. I’m so tired of this
Wouldn’t it have been just great if a traffic cop or two could have been dispatched to this situation?
