SEEN OFF WEST SEATTLE: Submarine, outbound

Thanks to Stewart L. for the photo! That submarine was in view off West Seattle, northbound in Puget Sound, a little over an hour ago. While MarineTraffic.com doesn’t ID it beyond “submarine/military ops,” the tracker does show that it’s continuing that way, off south Snohomish County’s shore at last check.

From the curved base of the sail it’s either one of the 3 Seawolfs or a Virginia-class.

Their are currently no Virginias home ported here so the Seawolfs for sure

Doesn’t have to be “homeported” here to be seen here. Could have been undergoing an SRA or some type of upkeep at PSNS and was heading out for sea trials or heading back to homeport.

Sorry, comment time is over.
