UPDATE: Crash at West Marginal/Highland Park Way

7:49 AM: Seattle Fire has sent a “rescue extrication” response to West Marginal Way SW/Highland Park Way for a crash that is reported.to involve two vehicles. one on its side. Updates to come.

7:58 AM: SDOT says one southbound lane is blocked. No camera at that intersection yet so we are on the way to look.

8:25 AM: Not there yet – our efforts to approach via Roxbury were slowed because Myers/Olson light is out.

8:41 AM: Finally got there. Intersection is now clear, as is West Marginal’s entire length – aside from a long SB backup.

There is also a stall in the left lane of Highland Park Way/E. Marginal, shortly after the Highland Park way and West Marginal intersection

West Marginal Southbound is backed up farther than I’ve ever seen. Avoid if possible

I was in the far left lane waiting to turn onto Highland Park when it happened. Due to my vantage point, I couldn’t see much but many folks did get out to make sure the people involved were OK. The far right lane was completely blocked by the flipped-over vehicle.

And the rainy season is just starting!

My bad per SDoT everyone will be biking to work in the rain.  Did I see a Dodo Bird in WS yesterday?

Oh yes, 10% of us!  Don’t forget we’re also supposed to walk and take scooters, too!

I’ve been on SB West Marginal Way for over half an hour. This is likely the worst I’ve seen it. I hope this isn’t the new normal when more people go back into offices (but I’m sure it is).

Stuck on W Marginal. Don’t make the same mistake. Avoid it still. 9:05 am.

MJ. SDOT is CERTAIN there’ll be HUNDRED’S if not THOUSANDS of new people biking everywhere. I’m sure they’ve got facts to back that up. Will they share them???

Does on its side count as flipped?  Is it time to reset the counter again?!?

Sorry, comment time is over.
