WEST SEATTLE CRIME WATCH: Stolen e-bike

Reader report: “My e-bike was stolen from 34th and Manning last night or today. I just noticed (this afternoon) it was gone and used it last night. It’s an IZIP and has two belts.”

The SPD and courts need to more vigorously apprehend and prosecute bike thieves.  The City’s failure to address bike theft is a deterrent to more people commuting by bike.  I know personally, I would ride more if I had confidence my good bike would not be stolen, as it is I use an old beater bike to commute with that limits range and viability.

Did you register your bike on bike index.org. If so there is a good chance we can get it back. I’m the bike ambassador for bike index. My first suggestion is to go out to Craigs list and offerup and start searching for your bike
