Police arrest driver after flipped-car crash

Another early-morning flipped-car crash. This one did not lead to a major callout and we didn’t hear about it until this photo came in from a nearby resident a short time ago. The SFD log shows it happened in the 3200 hundred block of Walnut around 1:30 am. Police tell WSB that the driver hit at least one parked car and they arrested him on suspicion of DUI.

Seems like cars are flipping every day here in WS. I know drivers are very careful so there must be something wrong with the streets. Uh no! So much distracted driving, texting while driving, and DUI which also includes prolific weed use in addition to alcohol.

If the driver were indeed drunk, please throw the book at him.

Yup, throw the book at them!

NEVER DRIVE A CAR IF YOU HAVE HAD EVEN ONE DRINK! This isn’t rocket science.

Agreed. In aviation we have a saying, “8 hours bottle to throttle.” I adhere to the same rule driving a car.

My partner is a flight attendant and their policy is 12 hours. They have random testing for both marijuana, illicit drugs and alcohol.

I’m sure they thought they were being clever going “the back way”.  I’ve known a few people who talked about taking Walnut home to Admiral from the Junction when they’d had too many.

Drivers need to focus on driving not be drunk, high, texting, or other distracting activities.  It’s frustrating seeing so many motorists texting.  Please put your phone down and focus on driving.

Again????Pay Attention! You are driving a machine that weighs around 3000 to 4000 pounds! And bad things can happen if you fail to pay attention.

Another flipped car?? Is this a new challenge like the Ice Bucket one?

Sorry, comment time is over.
