Eight months after we first reported that The Habit Burger Grill would take over the former KFC location at 35th and Avalon, a banner has appeared. The remodeling work at the site has been under way for three months. No official word yet on plans for opening but with the banner up and paper off the windows, it is clearly getting closer. Habit Burger is a California-based chain with more than 240 locations.
Hope it’s not too late for me to chime in on ingress/egress .. The old driveways for KFC were atrocious!
I don’t believe they have changed the curb cuts, at least not in the site plan I first saw last year. We go by almost daily on errands/rounds and the work has appeared to be all interior. I’ll look again, though.
I live in the building visible behind in the photo, and walk my dog past there daily. So far, zero change to anything outside of the building itself.Interior-wise, drywall went up in the past week or two.
Better get ready for a daily dose of burger grill plume wafting all around you.
I’ve had decent juicy burgers at a location before, but the fries were a disappointment as they were coated and non descript. Bad fries is a sad travesty for a burger business.
They have some good burgers and tempura green beans with sriracha sauce. YUM!California chain?, half the people that live in Washington are from California.
the name of this place makes me laugh. It’s like they are acknowledging that you will be eating there against your better judgement
