West Seattle Crime Watch: More illegal dumping

For the second time in less than week, we have a reader report of illegal dumping. Just texted:

Illegal dumping in alleyway between 35th Ave SW and 34th Ave SW around 6:55 pm. Heard loud roar of truck speeding off on Barton. Black bags with other debris spread down the alleyway.

The texter says it’s been reported to police.

P.S. Here’s the text of the no-dumping law, in case you’re curious.

Find-it-Fix-it app, report on that and the city will have to pay to come clean it up.  Enough times of people reporting this and ‘maybe’ they’ll have their bean counters understand having police enforcement is cheaper.

You are right. It’s sad it has to come that but it’s reality.

Think I might know who this is.  Truck is parked on 35th at 98th.  Owner
has been fined for trash related incidents quite recently.  There is a
line of vehicles in the vicinity of the residence, most of them used to
store trash.  Both the truck, the behavior, and the fact that the dump
site is about two minutes from this location make this worth looking
into, IMO.I previously posted the above comment in response to the other video report.  The residence frequently has black trash bags piled up in the driveway.
The trash cans are used for storage and for moving junk back and forth to the
multiple vehicles – which include a truck that precisely matches the one
in the video.  Suspicious that the dumping is taking place within a minute or two of this location.  This may be his new ‘solution’ since he was fined for piling up trash on the right-of-way.

I encountered a similar situation a couple weeks ago as I was leaving for work around 7 in the morning – 2 men were transferring junk from their truck into the dumpster of the apartment complex next door. As I was about to confront them a resident of the complex approached and had a brief conversation (of which I couldn’t hear) but they very begrudgingly loaded everything back into their own truck. The name on the back of their truck was “Tick-Tock Junk Removal”.

Have either of you had luck connecting with the city to have this investigated? It’s beyond frustrating people illegally dump on any level.

Beware who you hire for junk removal. These guys are pocketing the dump fee and dumping illegally in the neighborhood. If you hire these guys you are complicit.

The street that i live on by Sansilo school has been dumped on for the past 20 years. Not only is it an eyesore it’s dangerous with refrigerator doors still intact, fluids leaking out of bags, construction/remodel waste. Just pathetic disrespectful  behavior for the land andneighborhhod . If you hire someone to remove garbage, construction waste etc. you should require that they send you a picture text of them at waste station disposing YOUR stuff or cancel payment. For all the other night creatures dumping , i wish you flat tires.

Sorry, comment time is over.
