Colman Pool to remain closed Wednesday

(Closure-alert sign at south Lincoln Park lot – thanks to Venkat for the photo)

Thanks for the tips! The phone recording for Colman Pool now says it will be closed again Wednesday. The outdoor pool on Lincoln Park’s shore has been closed since Monday afternoon because of mechanical trouble. This is the last week of the pool’s short summer 7-days-a-week schedule; after Labor Day, it’s scheduled to close until one last post-season weekend, September 8-9.

7:30 PM WEDNESDAY NOTE: Just checked web, Twitter, phone and not seeing/hearing anything yet on status for Thursday.

12:01 AM THURSDAY NOTE: We checked again, no update yet for the day ahead.

Thursday the earliest!  Pathetic!  Poor leadership from the some HIGH paid Parks Board official. A gift from the Colman Family; Seattle didn’t even have to pay for ONLY upkeep and maintenance.  No wonder attendance is following off.  It’s a destination swim. you have to walk to.   Yes how about making this a year round venue like Mercer.  We are not asking to reinvent the wheel,  just make use of a singular gifted resource.

I would like to request the Parks Dept to extend the pool season for lap swimmers to make up for days missed from this and smoke closures. Actually, I wish they could find the money to keep the pool open thru sept. for everyone. As our weather is usually very nice during that month. thanks

I feel like this pool is more unavailable than it is available.
