West Seattle Crime Watch: Boat & trailer stolen; another bicycle found

Two reader reports:

BOAT AND TRAILER STOLEN: The photo and report are from Alyssa:

A family member’s boat was stolen from the corner of 14th Ave. SW and SW Elmgrove in Highland Park in the middle of the night. [map] It’s a 1966, 14 foot, white fishing boat on an army green trailer. Numbers on the side of the boat are: WN6881SJ and WA license plate # on trailer is: 7574QK. It was locked and had been moved within the last 72 hours … it has great sentimental value.

It’s been reported to SPD – call if you see it.

BICYCLE FOUND: Recognize this?

The photo’s from the finder, who says: “We found this bike in a hedge in an alley at Alki.” (Recognize it? Please comment.)

We had a package stolen off our front porch today by this guy: http://imgur.com/a/1nZjo

California Avenue between Andover and Dakota! It was a Kickstarter reward of my husband’s that sadly cannot be replaced, valued at $325. If you have any information or you know who this guy is, please let Seattle Police Department know and reference case number 16-333664. He has, um… very distinctive fashion sense so there’s an outside chance that someone may recognize him.

Wow I really feel bad for Alyssa’s family. I’m sure they have many great memories on that boat. She left out the most important information though. The most valuable and easiest to sell item there is the motor. The rest might even be ditched somewhere already.  I hope they have been watching the usual sites for the motor for sale. Local fishing communities like piscatorial pursuits would good to post to so more  people can watch for it as well.

Please have her post the make, size, and partial serial number of the motor and I’ll keep my eyes open for it.

R0b0- I appreciate it so much!  If I’m reading this right… it’s a Nissan Marine motor, 15hp, last 4 of serial number is ****06XE.  Going to post right now to the other site you recommended.

The bike is a vintage Laguna Cook Bros beach cruiser and probably worth at least $1500. Lets hope it gets back to its owner.

Sorry, comment time is over.
