Seriously? Cuz we haven’t had enough of them lately. And a work night is a great time for them.

Honestly, we’ve had too many *&%$ing fireworks! They’ve been going off for 9 days now. My dog is done. I’m done. I’d really, really like to have a quiet peaceful night. I’m glad it’s a cool summer and we don’t have a fire danger, but one blessing of elevated fire danger is fewer explodey things.

SUCKS… enough already. Some of us have to work in the a.m.

Drove down from my house in Arbor Heights to watch it. Awesome show for the community! Yes, yes we all have to work tomorrow, but it’s once a year. Thank you White Center! My husband and I enjoyed our Wednesday evening.

Well it’s 2:45AM and someone is shooting fireworks. I’m so glad I’m going to be going to work in a few hours.

No relation to this show, which was over at 10:21 pm.

Wonderful display. Thanks White Center for providing  positive family time. Yes it’s a week night , wasn’t late though. Everyone should ignore the naysayers, summer is about celebrations, fairs and good times.

Or they could shoot them off on the 4th like the rest of America.

Katie, I was jolted out of bed by the assholes at 2:39 a.m., scared the **** out of me! M-80’s and who knows what else. By the time I called 911, they had several calls in reporting them. Looked to be coming from Southwest Pool parking lot vicinity.

Also heard the fireworks at 2:45 am in Westwood.  Wish the city would ban the damn things already.

  • Roxy July 14, 2016 (7:45 am)

They are illegal now. And it sounds like someone is pitching the out of a moving vehicle.

  • Roxy July 14, 2016 (7:47 am)

I wonder if all those bomb sounds have a negative impact on vets & refugees. I would think so.

The big ones don’t bother me so much. It’s the ones that sound like gunshots closeby that send me diving for cover in my own apartment.

WOW most of us are just getting old I guess…something that keeps us awake beyond our bedtime makes us cranky doesn’t it!

Remember the good old days when 3 or 4 hours of sleep or none at all and we could function just fine…

Smile, be happy that we have a home and a job and sleepless nights are just something that will pass.

Roxy, you raise an important question re fireworks and our real heroes, our veterans – specifically, those with PTSD.

Those fireworks…..someone should have provided the community notice that this assault on ears (and eyes) would transpire!!

  • Suzanne July 14, 2016 (5:10 pm)

The Jubilee days fireworks display is also an opportunity for those that work in the service industry to take their families to a show. Not everybody works days, Monday to Friday, with holidays off.

The Jubilee Days show put on by professionals, good.  The amateurs lighting explosives at 2:45, not so good.

    .

Anybody who thinks that intoxicated amateurs sending aerial explosives over other people’s homes is acceptable should reexamine their values.  I find it terribly ironic that it’s illegal in this state to use your car horn (other than for emergencies) but detonating illegal explosives in a residential area is not enforced.

If it makes you feel better, I think plenty of people honk their horns without that law being enforced against them.

    Sorry WSB-couldn’t resist temptation ;-)

In addition to fireworks, loud booms in the middle of the night, etc., those of us near the Rally project woke to jack hammering promptly at 7 am Thursday.  Lovely way to start the day.  Who needs to sleep in more than two hour increments?

Sorry, comment time is over.
