Highland Park Spraypark: Working today!

Just in case you were wondering – after a breakdown yesterday, the Highland Park Spraypark is back up and running today, in time for what’s expected to be an even hotter afternoon/evening than yesterday. We just went over to check firsthand, and that’s what we found. (We won’t be able to find out from Seattle Parks what caused yesterday’s problem until tomorrow.)

If you talk to parks, it could use some maintenance. The red dumping buckets are leaking and do not work. Some of the other jets do not seem to be functioning right.

Thanks WS Blog!  It was very unfortunate to have the spraypark out of service this Saturday. Do you know how to report the out of service drinking fountain at Emma Schmitz Park? It was sad seeing folks trying to use it on an extremely hot day and completely out of service (no idea how long it has been broken).  The Parks webpage says it takes 2 weeks for an email response.

There’s a maintenance hotline – try that tomorrow. Same place you found the notice about e-mail. I can’t report problems but I intend to ask the parks folks “ok, so when something is broken off-hours, what’s the best way to report?” There was a problem at West Seattle Stadium with the lights a few years back and I remember going through some craziness, along with the folks who were trying to report it, to find the right number/hotline … TR
