TRAFFIC/TRANSIT TODAY: Thursday updates

(Click any view for a close-up; more cameras on the WSB Traffic page)

6:46 AM: No incidents reported so far in or from West Seattle.

7:34 AM: Still quiet on the outbound routes.

9:05 AM: Thanks to Mark for sending word of a crash in northbound lanes on 35th just north of Morgan. Apparently no injuries, as there’s nothing on the SFD 911 log.

And if you are parked outside, possibly … THE ICE! We are headed out to a story and just discovered the need to scrape.

Whoever had the idea to divert future Vashon traffic to downtown is a genius. Hope this happens. Traffic today is backed up to 35th at 9 apparently just because the sun is out.

People habitually stopping at the top of the I 5 north on ramp to try and merge into lanes that are not moving, doesn’t help. The back up cascades back to 1st Ave or further west on the WS Bridge. Why don’t people who want to get on I 5 use the mile ahead in the right lane (which is pretty open in the am) to merge?

Sorry, comment time is over.
