TRAFFIC ALERTS: 35th/Avalon; southbound Highway 99

4:03 PM: Two traffic alerts right now:

35TH/AVALON: A Metro bus and Seattle Police car got into a “fender-bender,” no injuries, but the eastbound lanes have been intermittently blocked. And to compound matters, northbound 35th is blocked by construction work, so 35th is one lane each way south of Avalon, for now.

SOUTHBOUND 99: There’s a medic response for a crash near the stadium zone, according to the live 911 log.

4:50 PM: That 99 response is closed now, but SDOT tweeted that a vehicle is blocking the right lane of southbound 99 at the Battery Street Tunnel, so if you’re headed this way from north of there, take note. We can’t check back on 35th/Avalon for a while but it’s likely to have cleared by now, with no medic involvement or serious damage.

5:02 PM: Yet another crash response on southbound 99, this time at Seneca.

I don’t know what that police response was for. We heard a lot of sirens while up at Solstice Park covering Alice’s sunset watch, but they were associated with a medical response at The Kenney (WSB sponsor) downslope …

Couple police cars came screaming north up California toward Admiral, passing Charlestown, about 15 minutes ago.

There had been an ambulance, then multiple cop vehicles with lights on there way before the accident (at least an hour before). Does anyone know what that was about?

1:45 pm, low-level medical response (‘aid response’) at the apartment building’s address (3295 SW Avalon Way).

At first I thought the police were ticketing a bus driver for running the light. I guess I should say hoping that was the case.

Have no idea at this point who was at fault, if either, and whether any citations were or will be issued; I’m putting it on my followup list for tomorrow. – TR

Freeforall, why were you hoping that? Just curious.

Possibly something to do with busses regarding lights as suggestions?

Alright, I’ll stop commenting, this window is too small to try to preach to society anyways, haha, not that they’re listening. I did want to comment (although pointless) that you mentioned that you weren’t sure if it was the bus or police vehicle that was at fault, saying; if either!?!? Well, one of them had to be at fault! Haha, what was it, the moon, an earthquake, a gust of wind? I know we want to believe that, but sometimes police and busses crash, too. They are very distracted in their vehicles. Mistakes are made, no need to sugar coat it…

Sorry, comment time is over.
