TRAFFIC/TRANSIT TODAY: Tuesday tracking & updates

No incidents reported so far on the routes through/from West Seattle. A few notes:

STAIRWAY GOATS: We reported last Friday on SDOT’s plan to bring in Rent-A-Ruminant goats this week to clear overgrowth along the stairway that goes up Holden from Delridge. At the time, SDOT expected them to be at work by 8 am today, but they now tell us the start is likely to be between 11 am and 2 pm. We’ll update when there’s a sighting.

‘ROXBURY REVEAL’ TONIGHT AT WWRHAH: Tonight’s Westwood-Roxhill-Arbor Heights Community Council meeting (6:15 pm, Southwest Branch Library) will include first word of SDOT’s final plan for making SW Roxbury safer.

Bridge needs enforcement of bus lane again. Blatant disregard of Bus Only is happening regularly again. This morning it was a repeat offender. Plate number is 870Z–, a tan car, maybe an old Taurus? Irritating.

Hi – We don’t publish full plate numbers (or other third-party identifying information such as full addresses, phone numbers, etc.) unless it’s a police BOL so I have removed the last two digits – I’m not certain if there’s a way to make a report directly to police about a “repeat offender” – somebody asked it here in 2011 and we didn’t have a reply.

The construction backups at Delridge/Orchard were particularly bad this morning in the 8:00 hour it was up the hill past home depot with people trying to cut through the HD parking lot but unable because all of their driveways were blocked with traffic spilling all directions from Orchard/Delridge and Sylvan. Has there been some kind of change made over there? It hasn’t been like this since when it first started. Really frustrating this morning. Lots of school and metro buses stuck in the mix too.

Jenn you can file a report on Seattle.gov to request more enforcement and mention repeat offenders. Unless SPD sees the violation, there’s probably nothing they can do. They will get caught one day. As you may know, SPD is enforcing the bus lane often. Seargent Brian Johnson might still be in charge of this area. He has been great to work with, his address is Brian dot Johnson at Seattle dot gov . The more SPD knows about a problem or our concerns, the more likely they will spend time on it so I encourage everyone to fill out a form. Thanks!
