West Seattle biznotes: Pink Gorilla Games goes; Radio Shacks stay

Two quick biznotes:

PINK GORILLA GAMES: No longer in West Seattle, after 3 years at 6053 California SW in Morgan Junction. On the company’s Facebook page, they told a customer their landlord had sold the building and that they have no plans to look for another WS location. They’re still open in the International District, University District, and Bellevue. Thanks to Katt for the flag on the store’s disappearance. (WSB file photo from 2012)

RADIO SHACK: In case you were wondering (we were) – the company’s out with a list of locations that might close because of its bankruptcy, and the list does NOT include either of its two West Seattle locations, in The Junction and Westwood Village.

I rarely shopped at Radio Shack, but I completely stopped when they asked for telephone numbers at the time of purchase.

I am very surprised radio shack will stay. I have been in there about 10 times in the last 4 years. I have almost always had a poor experience which led me to not purchase anything, and the store has almost always been empty.

I just discovered pink gorilla had left yesterday. I was looking for N64 games. Anyone have some collecting dust? I tried to join the WSB forums to ask there, but it just won’t let me register. Truly in just looking for any cheap game to test my old system and make sure it works before bidding a collection. Doesn’t even have to be a good game.

Any word on what’s lined up to replace gorilla? Hoping it’s good development.

WE Shopper, just say no or give them 111-111-1111. The clerks don’t care about your number. They would rather just make the sale.

ws shopper-agree with onion-just decline. Lots of places ask for phone numbers-or email addresses-I was asked just recently at-Pier 1 & Pottery Barn.
Just politely said-don’t wish to share that-no problems-no hassles. Did the same when asked at RS-no big deal.

Hope they replace the Radio Shack with an Amazon location. We certainly don’t need a Sprint store.

What is the Amazon store concept? I read about pick up and drop off services, but I wonder about the retail use.

I gotta give a shout out to Westwood location. They are super friendly and helpful. They have a very upbeat attitude.

I just noticed the fence is gone around the old teriyaki place on 35th and Fauntleroy. Is something happening there?

Not that we’ve heard or that I can find in public records … but I’ll ask City Light tomorrow.

What is happening with the closed Italian bistros in the junction? Seems to be work going on there

Yes, there is. The former proprietor is apparently still involved and when we stopped by to ask, told us no comment.

Sorry, comment time is over.
