Maybe you’ve been noticing the helicopters …

We’ve received a few phone calls about unusual helicopter traffic today – and have heard/seen a few going over WSB HQ. Turns out there is a huge “emergency exercise simulating an aircraft accident” at Sea-Tac, going on for another hour or so. Participants include “eight evacuation helicopters, more than 175 emergency vehicles and 300 victim volunteers.” Airlift agencies that are participating, according to the summary, include “the U.S. Coast Guard from Port Angeles and Astoria, Oregon, U.S. Navy Air Station Whidbey Island, Washington Air National Guard – Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Snohomish County Sheriff, King County Sheriff, and Airlift Northwest.”

Definitely hard to miss so many helicopters flying atypical patterns over the house. Thx for ‘splaining.

A low-flying chopper cruised over my place, on 16th in Highland Park/S. Delridge, just a bit after 10:00 this morning.

    .

It was heading south, and pointed a tad east, so may have been heading to this event.

There’s been plenty of choppers (of course!) flyover/circle/hover my place in that last year and a half plus here, but I don’t recall any so low, especially when it wasn’t circling/hovering, and it sounded like it was about to set down in the relatively narrow courtyard between the two buildings of my complex (I’m down below street level of 16th).

Woh! Four massive military choppers just buzzed my house on 32nd and holden. My whole house was shaking. Is that legal? My dog is hiding under the bed. Little to close for comfort.

Sorry, comment time is over.
