West Seattle restaurants: Opening day at ‘Zaw

Back on Wednesday, the first day of the “soft launch” for the new ‘Zaw take-and-bake pizza shop at 35th and Fauntleroy, Jennifer shared that photo of her son Owen with pizza maker Aidan, as they picked up the first of dozens of free pizzas given away via RSVP. No more freebies, but today is the shop’s official opening day; hours are 2-9 pm Fridays and Saturdays, 2-8 pm Sundays-Thursdays. Here’s their menu, all takeout – pizza, salad, take-and-bake dessert, and beverages, including wine and beer. ‘Zaw is a local chain with eight other locations in Seattle and on the Eastside.

I was one of the lucky ones to get in on the free pie giveaway and it was GREAT! Welcome to the peninsula!

I love pizza and wish them well at this location. never checked out their menu until just now – $18 for a raw pizza. wow.

I was also among the fortunate. Our pie was excellent. I am intrigued by their combo prices, such as for pie, salad, and wine. And baking it ourselves was no problem, because then you r pizza is hot out of the oven rather than 30 minutes out of the oven.

Thank you for the invite for the soft launch. My son and I enjoyed the Chicken Aporicot pizza great flavor. I think this one will be a family favorite.

Aidan made our free pizza as well. It was delicious :) Conflicted at the normal $18 price due to the locale’s proximity to us…buuuut I think the $30 pizza, salad, wine bundle is a pretty good deal. I’m sure I’ll be back.

I had the Hunter Gatherer and was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the ingredients which were comparable to what I’ve had at Pizzerias 22 and Credo. Following the directions, I found the crust started to firm up but remain flexible enough to fold over which is what I like in a thin crust.

Sorry, comment time is over.
