Update: Missing Renton man, seen in West Seattle, found safe

1:09 PM: The King County Sheriff’s Office has put out a bulletin for 81-year-old Roy Thompson, a Renton man who’s missing and was last seen in West Seattle this morning. Call 911 if you see him or think you have seen him. He is believed to be driving a 2006 gray Toyota Avalon with the license plate starting with AJY.

3:56 PM UPDATE: KCSO spokesperson Sgt. Cindi West tells us that Thompson used his bank card at the SW Avalon 7-11 at 8:15 this morning and then at a Shell station in the 600 block of Elliott Avenue West between 10:40 am and 12:40 pm.

10:50 PM UPDATE: Sgt. West has just sent word that the man has been found, safe, in Bellevue, and was reunited with his family.

DOES THIS GENTLEMAN HAVE DEMENTIA? IS THAT WHY THE CONCERN FOR HIS WHERE-ABOUTS?

King County Sheriff’s Office did not comment on his specific medical condition. At any rate, good news, we JUST got word he’s been found. Updating story.

Bet you had the time of your life, Roy! Somebody make sure Google Latitude is enabled on a smart phone plugged into his car (or on his own smart phone) and you’ll know where and when he’s out livin large :-)

Sorry, comment time is over.
