Just announced today by Chief Sealth International High School‘s athletic director Sam Reed, the plan for the third annual Sealth Athletics Golf Tournament – at a new location this year, with other changes:

If this past weekend’s sunshine wasn’t enough to get you excited for spring and summer, how about an e-mail about golf sent on the opening day of the newest MLB season! Selfishly, I’m hoping to capitalize on that excitement and to invite you all to join me for the 3rd Annual Chief Sealth Athletics Golf Tournament, coming Friday, June 7th to Foster Golf Links.

After two great years at Rainier Golf and Country Club, I’m excited to announce that we’re moving this year’s event to the recently updated Foster Golf Links in nearby Tukwila. The new location will allow for this event to continue to grow and help to raise even more money for our athletic programs and student-athletes – all while actually lowering the price to participate in the event!

Reservations, foursomes and sponsorships are now being taken online, by clicking here. Individual spots in the scramble tournament are now just $100, while foursomes can be reserved for $400. Participation includes free continental breakfast, complimentary use of the driving range, free food and non-alcoholic beverages on the course, golf cart, and a full catered BBQ lunch following play. As in the past, all proceeds will benefit the growth and development of Chief Sealth athletics as well as the dedicated student-athletes that benefit from them. Prizes will be given to the top three overall teams, as well as to the winners, both male and female, of the long drive and closest to the pin contests.

In addition to much of the same fun and competition that we’ve had in the past, I’d like to announce a few small changes to make this year’s event even more fun and powerful:

* The 8:30 am shotgun start time which will allow all participants to wrap up early and be able to enjoy a Friday night and weekend with the family.

* We’ve reworked sponsorship packages to allow for more small businesses to be able to support specific sports. Each high school sport, including cheer, will have a hole dedicated to them, where local businesses can sponsor a specific sport/hole and see all proceeds go directly to that sport. Hole sponsors are just $250 and available first come, first serve.

* Speaking of sport-specific holes, the new format will allow participants to have even more contact with the coaches and student-athletes that they are golfing for. Each hole will host a table feature a specific sport, a coach and a student-athlete or two talking about their participation and fundraising needs.

Other sponsorship opportunities are also available, especially those who have in-kind goods to donate. We’re currently looking for vendors and sponsors to help offset the costs of shirts, food and beverage, prizes and other special items to help make the day fantastic.
