Along with tonight’s overnight WESTBOUND closure of the Spokane Street Viaduct – which means you can’t get to the bridge from I-5 or Beacon Hill – another one’s just been added for tomorrow night (late Thursday night to early Friday). Details ahead in an SDOT advisory:
As previously announced, the westbound lanes of the Spokane Street Viaduct between I-5 and SR 99 will be closed Wednesday night, June 20, from 10 p.m. until 5 a.m. Thursday morning.
However, the project contractor has determined that an additional closure will be needed Thursday night, June 21. This second overnight closure will close the westbound lanes of the Spokane Street Viaduct between I-5 and SR 99 beginning at 10 p.m. Thursday evening and ending at 5 a.m. on Friday morning.
Motorists heading to West Seattle or Harbor Island can circumvent the closure by taking southbound SR 99 and using its West Seattle off-ramp.
For both nights, the left eastbound lane of the Spokane Street Viaduct between I-5 and SR 99 will be closed from 10 p.m. until 5 a.m. the following day. Traffic will be maintained in the remaining eastbound lane.
More information about the project can be found at: http://www.seattle.gov/transportation/spokanestreet.htm.
