West Seattle Whale Watch: Another orca sighting

Just got word from Donna Sandstrom of The Whale Trail – one day after orcas were spotted headed north, but closer to the other side of Puget Sound, today they’re headed south and visible from west-facing West Seattle (try Me-Kwa-Mooks, we’re told).

Thanks for these updates. One of these days I will get lucky and see some whales!

They kept going south and last we heard were milling near KVI Beach on Vashon. Will they turn and head back north like yesterday, or keep going south past Pt. Robinson? We’ll keep you posted if we hear…

They did keep going south, past Pt. Robinson. It was southern residents – Ks and Ls, same group that was here yesterday. Hmm, what will happen tomorrow…

From reports on Orca Network’s Facebook page, they went north and were in Admiralty Inlet late this afternoon.
Also wanted to confirm it was 13 orcas, a mix of whales from K and L pods. A fairly unusual grouping…

Sorry, comment time is over.
