West Seattle scene: Helping the Helpline get ready for winter

Winter’s on the doorstep – and that means West Seattle Helpline will be getting more requests for help from people in difficult circumstances, maybe just for something as basic as staying warm and dry, with a roof over their head. Making sure WS Helpline will be able to offer that help, was the goal of tonight’s gala dinner and auction at the Duwamish Longhouse in West Seattle.

Above are Helpline board members Terry Burns (who emceed) and Rev. Ron Marshall. Ahead – other community leaders/members who attended tonight to show their support:

We caught West Seattle Rotary president and Illusions Hair Salon (WSB sponsor) owner Sue Lindblom (center) with Brian and Ruthie Waid:

Also on hand, West Seattle Chamber of Commerce board chair and West 5 owner Dave Montoure, photographed with Jason Miller:

King County Councilmember Joe McDermott was in attendance too:

If you couldn’t be there – you can still help the Helpline any time; there’s an online-donation button on its website at westseattlehelpline.org.

What a great evening and great dinner! I couldn’t believe how great the Duwamish Longhouse looked and how fun this night was I can’t wait for next year!

Great food, great venue, great event for a great charity. It’s organizations like the WS Helpline that make me proud to live in this community!

I’ve attended all of the Helpline fundraisers since the agency was formed back in 1989. And this was one of the best ever! Thanks to everyone who put it together and to all who came out to support the West Seattle Helpline last night!! The Duwamish Longhouse was wonderful and Blue Willow cooked and served a great meal for us.

Sorry, comment time is over.
