Traffic alert: Another no-520, no-Mercer ramps weekend

So far, haven’t heard any reports that today’s big downtown event led to traffic chain reactions, so that’s good news. But WSDOT wants you to know in advance that next weekend, there’s another of those double closures – the 520 floating bridge and the Mercer offramps. “Expect region-wide congestion,” they warn. More here.

Wow, I don’t usually read those alerts I guess, but that might be one of the most poorly organized press release/announcements I’ve ever seen. I could care less about proper writing, but that is not user-friendly at all and sometimes confusing! Where & when are what people care about, so they can see if it will affect their plans. Did I seriously have to go down to the bottom to find dates that could have been in the first line? And then sometimes actually read through the text to find that information? Headers and bullet points would be EXCELLENT and then if I want to read all of the whys, I can. Annoying. WSB, maybe you could add “this weekend” to your lead-in to compensate for WSDOT’s style and save some others from the trouble, lol. *steps off soapbox*

Sorry, comment time is over.
