‘Search and Rescue Van’ seeking homeless people in WS/WC

As reported Tuesday on partner site White Center Now, Union Gospel Mission‘s “Search and Rescue Van” is coming to West Seattle and White Center tonight for the first time, hoping to find homeless people who sleep outdoors, to offer them various types of help. Today, as April pointed out on the new WSB Facebook page, UGM is looking for information on where they should go – if you have a suggestion, go here to tell them.

I’d like to give Union Gospel Mission a location to search, but I don’t want to have my full name publicly identified on their Facebook page as having done this. I don’t seem to be able to message them directly using Facebook. Is there another way to contact them with location suggestions?

Yes, that’s one drawback of Facebook “pages” – we recently had to move to one of those – you cannot message the page owner off-page UNLESS they choose to put their profile as a “featured owner” in the left sidebar (on the West Seattle Blog page, we have done that so folks know they can message WS Blog, our old “profile”). I’ve got a note out to UGM to ask how you could get that info to them off-page. – TR
