High-school basketball: Sealth’s final Tacoma Dome game

One more game at the Tacoma Dome today for the Chief Sealth International High School boys’ basketball team – and a tough one because of foul trouble. In the consolation round, North Central (from Spokane) topped Sealth 53-46. That’s the acclaimed Sealth drum line in our top clip; game details and video after the jump:

From WSB co-publisher Patrick Sand, who covered the game in Tacoma:

Persistent foul trouble put the Chief Sealth Seahawks into a hole late in their consolation round game with North Central, which led to the Indians’ 53-46 win. The loss ends Sealth’s season. For the better part of three quarters, the game was a low-scoring affair. The second quarter saw both teams get into a rough-and-tumble drive for rebounds that sometimes came to resemble a rugby scrum. This exchange came about two minutes before the first half ended.

Overall Sealth had 22 fouls in the game, nine coming before the first half was over. In that they stripped and stole the ball, but it didn’t convert into many points. For the afternoon, the Seahawks completed fewer than 30 percent of their shots from the floor. Keon Lewis led the team with 16 points.
