Last night was the final scheduled home game of the season for Chief Sealth International High School‘s girls-varsity basketball team, so that meant special honors for the seniors on the team, which went on to defeat West Seattle High School, 65-50. Details and a video clip after the jump:
From WSB co-publisher Patrick Sand:
The West Seattle girls varsity went across town to play Chief Sealth tonight in a game that saw both sides struggle with control of the ball and with foul trouble, but a strong second-quarter run by Sealth put the Seahawks in control as they went on to a 65-50 win.
That second=quarter run was largely owned by Sealth’s Victoria Elleby, who finished the night with 18 points. The game saw both sides try to engage the other with a running game, as you can see here.
It was a physical game for both sides that saw most starters play the whole game. West Seattle’s Haily Hage was the high scorer for the Wildcats with 12 points.
