Followup: New information about West Seattle-bound The Sneakery

Late Friday night, capping a busy week of new-and-moving-business news, we reported that The Sneakery, a Ballard shoe store, is expanding to West Seattle, in the space at 4736 California SW that was long home to Liberty Bell Printing (which moved to a storefront-less location two months ago). We also sent an inquiry to the store’s owner, hoping to get some timetable information, and just heard back. Owner Drea tells WSB “… the space is going to take a lot of work to get up and running. Look for us to open sometime in May. We will be offering old-school sneakers from Saucony Originals, Adidas, Puma, PF Flyers and more. Plus, we will have an extensive sock selection. We are pleased as punch to be serving the people of West Seattle!”

I second having sock for large footed men, If there is not anything in there I will not shop and will make others shop else where too.

Wow, what a great, welcoming attitude you have! What’s next? Maybe organize a picket in front of the store?

Small businesses have a tough enough of a time as it is – maybe we should wait and see what they stock, what they don’t, what special orders they can do before going off on your threatening statements.

I want vegetarian, gluten-free, organic, cruelty-free, PETA endorsed shoes & socks in a women’s size 10 (or higher). And kids shoes in every conceivable color so that my 4 year old is satisfied as well – because if SHE’S not happy, mama will go tell all of WS to avoid this new store & shop at the Payless in Westwood Village instead.

Dear Sneakery, welcome to West Seattle! I PROMISE that not all of us are pretentious self-centered whiny jerks, and that most of us are actually THRILLED to hear about another new business choosing to open shop in WS, especially in this crap economy. Cheers & see you soon in the Junction!
