Update: Jeremy Peck still missing, new search planned

An update tonight on the search for Jeremy Peck, whose family says he hasn’t been seen since early morning, Christmas Eve, in the Admiral District. In the comment section following our original story. Still no sign of him, according to Cheryl, who is one of the people who originally contacted us about Jeremy; she says they are hoping to gather a lot of people this Sunday morning at 10:30 am at Puerto Vallarta in The Junction (4727 California SW) to fan out and look – the more the better. The photo at left is from official ID; Jeremy is 6’1″, about 177 pounds, light brown hair, brown eyes, goes by “JP.” He was last seen wearing blue jeans, tennis shoes, and a black waist-length coat over a gray hoodie-type sweatshirt. If you have any information about him, you can contact police or John Peck, the uncle who raised him and with whom he was living in Fairmount Springs, at 206-923-0875 or 206-371-6451.

Thank you Tracy, this means so much to John for you to update.

I was just taking note of his face posted on the bulletin board tonight at the coin laundry in Admiral. Really struck me that someone so young right in our own community is missing.

Thank you for the update. I feel strongly that foul play is involved. Who were the last people to see Jeremy at the Admiral Pub? Why doesn’t the police have a tip line??? I know of several people who want to anonymously give information. Someone knows what happened to him. Jeremy is a good kid with a good heart and we want him back! I hope the Police Department is taking this seriously.

Joyce please if you know someone who might have a lead or know something, tell the police anonymously, even if it seems minor, have them call the police, they are very good about being discreet, I know that from personal experience with Seattle PD.

the tip line is called 911, “this isn’t an emergency, but I need to report on a missing person’s case.”

Hope your “friends” have the courage and you’re not a troll!

Gosh, Admiral to Fauntleroy seems like a HUGE walk. Although I used to do it at 14 walking to my boyfriend’s house. Has anyone checked off the Admiral Bridge yet? Oh my gosh, there’s so many coyotes down there. Getting terrible pictures in my head now.

  • Sarah January 9, 2011 (6:45 am)

Seriously Tiffany Kosa and “Admiralite”! Coyotes, troll. These comments are not helpful and probably don’t help the family who, no doubt, is going through a very difficult time. If you don’t have anything nice (or helpful) to say don’t say anything at all.

  • Cheryl January 9, 2011 (8:35 am)

Thank you Sarah for saying that, we just need help and support not uneeded and unecessary silliness,

  • Joyce January 9, 2011 (9:27 am)

FYI When 911 was called they said it wasn’t an active case and the information would most likely just float around the police station. A central location for tips and someone actively working the case is needed. Also, I didn’t say these people were my friends. Do a little research on my first message and the people involved~ to most they are scary.

I’m sorry. I honestly read it as if Joyce was withholding information. A troll is a person that comes on a chat board with the specific intent to stir up emotions.

Joyce, the way your post read was as if you had information to give.

I’m sorry I can’t help search today but I want you to know that your family and Jeremy are in my family’s prayers. I hope he’s safe and you find him soon. West Seattle love coming your way.

“I know of several people who want to anonymously give information.” written by joyce

    What?

  • Joyce January 9, 2011 (2:01 pm)

This whole story stirs up emotions~ Keep focused on the fact that Jeremy is missing and the last people to be seen with him are not boy scouts. It is only my intention to make that fact known and keep the search alive and get the Police to start an investigation. It is a well known that the last people to be seen with a missing person and/or family members are the most likely suspects…
    LETS BRING JEREMY HOME!!!!

  • Cheryl January 9, 2011 (6:22 pm)

Joyce is just seeking attention, her first message said she knows ‘several people who want to anonymously give information’, well give it, your just playing games and want attention, we searched all day for Jeremy, stomped thru creeks, woods, you name it and nothing, so if anyone is serious about having tips please be forthcoming, Joyce is playing games.

  • Cheryl January 9, 2011 (9:48 pm)

FYI, the police department was contact almost two weeks ago, so far they are doing nothing for Jeremy. Tomorrow we are setting up an anonymous tip phone line so if anyone knows someone who might know something, no matter how minor it might seem, the tip line can be called.

Curious if the search was only in the west Seattle area. I would like to help any way I can.

  • cheryl January 10, 2011 (12:29 pm)

Kelsey, thank you for asking..so far the search has covered shoreline and wooded areas around West Seattle and some searchers did go as far as the White Center, Riverview areas to, if we search again the search may broaden to other areas as well. Considering circumstances that have been turned over to the police (and can’t be discussed right now) its not likely that he would be very far from West Seattle. There is a detective assigned to this case and we will keep everyone updated when we know.

I texted the 371 phone number above this morning… let me know if you didn’t get it.

Having been there when John took in the kids, it saddens and worries me that Jeremy is missing. The 7 years his Uncle John and I raised our 3 kids together holds a lot of memories and Andy is very upset to think his big brother is missing. We are doing all we can from Spokane to get the word out and to find our precious “Germster.” His sheepish grin and sparkling eyes are in my heart as I pray for his safe return. Suzanne

Kat, the 371 number you texted doesn’t accept texts, you can text my number 206-579-1057, I talked to John everyday, he’s asked me to help him with this, so feel free to text me. Again, it can be completely anonymous if you want it to. There’s also an anonymous tip line set up now. the number is 206-478-4905, but I don’t think it takes texts either. thank you for any help you can offer.
    Cheryl
