The Wax Bar in West Seattle: Welcome, new WSB sponsor

This morning, we’re welcoming the Wax Bar, which recently expanded to West Seattle, as our newest WSB sponsor. Here’s what they’d like you to know about their business and services: The Wax Bar is located at the corner of 37th and Fauntleroy, between West Seattle Brake Service and the shoe-repair shop. The Wax Bar is a skin-care lounge that offers full-service spa treatments and head-to-toe waxing. Any waxing service or facial will have you feeling smooth and refreshed when you leave —but we want you to feel that way every day! At the Wax Bar we offer three different skin-care lines to cater to all skin types: Aveda, Dermalogica, and Somme. Veteran wax specialists Lynaia (West Seattle local), Bevan, and Sarah are here to make the experience a bit more enjoyable. With the Wax Bar lounge now open, come sip one of our raspberry beers or a specialty beer before your service. “Relax and get waxed,” owner Karen Jahn often says. In keeping with the bar theme, come visit during our “happy hour” specials from 1 pm-3 pm Tuesday through Friday. Find us online at, in person at 4462 37th Ave. SW, or by phone at 206-935-4990.

We thank the Wax Bar for sponsoring independent, community-collaborative neighborhood news on WSB; find our sponsor team, and info on joining, all here.

Woo hoo, I love my brows, thanks to Lynaia!

They have the best signage and such an attractive storefront! I sure wish more W. Seattle business owners understood how important that is – and how a professional sign and clean, attractive storefront can improve business.

Best wax I’ve had since moving to Seattle. And, where else can you prep for a wax with an adult beverage?

My favorite thing is their sign that answers “Will waxing hurt?” with: “Does James Brown get down?” Classic.

I can’t wait to check them out! Do you need to make an appointment ahead of time?

Best eyebrow wax I’ve ever had was at the Ballard location. Love that they’re close to home. Welcome, can’t wait to try it!

I have been thinking of getting a head to toe wax myself lately.

    Rio here we come.

Love, love, love Lynaia! Always a great job, not to mention one way too cool chica!

Hum I am wondering is the wait really so long that you have time to drink a cocktail? When I go in for my waxings at The Beauty Bar I am in and out no time for a cocktai just the way I like it.

Congratulations on your new beauty bar! I hope you serve great beverages! Cocktails are a great idea – Nothing Better than having a cocktail before a wax!

Anyone know why they only serve beer (and a hard cider looks like)? Seems like this model would scream for wine, maybe even champagne.

Thanks Genhillone for bringing that to my attention, I had no idea it was beer only, yuk no beer for me!! My girlfriends and I were thinking we could go in and get a glass of champagne, but then again who really has that much time to sit and drink and then get waxed? WAX ON WAX OFF and out the door….

Sorry, comment time is over.
