Shooting investigation @ 15th/Roxbury

FIRST 2:42 AM REPORT: Police are setting up at various locations around South Delridge and also working with county to check on the White Center side. No other details yet. 2:52 AM UPDATE: Call now definitely described as a shooting. Also per scanner, police say a witness told them the suspect was a black male, 20s, in a black hoodie, driving a white Ford Crown Victoria with big rims, last seen heading northbound. 3:05 AM UPDATE: We had originally heard DOA via the scanner but no confirmation; however, via Twitter, KIRO is also reporting 1 dead. No word of an arrest yet. EARLY SUNDAY UPDATE: Our partners at the Seattle Times have an update that says the victim was a man in his 20s.

any new information regarding if the DOA was related to this shooting? how absolutely depressing–and frightening–this happened a few blocks from where i live. i heard the chopper and sirens, and i hoped it was just an overreaction. no such luck . . .

by the way, “get a life?” what a ridiculously stupid comment.

I like the “go bed” comment. I think perhaps they actually wanted you to “go (be a) bed”, which is really weird, since you are people. And WSB, thanks for being awesome.

Agreed! WSB is amazing! I’m moving to MA from west seattle, am currently driving thru the Midwest and still check the blog all the time to stay informed.

As for the bed comment, Samson, what were you doing up on the blog at that hour?!? You go to bed buddy…

We bumped into a KCSO captain at White Center Spring Clean and he didn’t have much to say. Official info is really hard to get on a weekend but we’ll keep trying, also watching regional sources in case they get luckier. Investigators were still on scene at 6 am – we added a photo at WCN, I need to add one here too. The crime scene tape was down by midmorning, though – TR

We live down the street and didn’t hear a thing!! Thanks WSB, I would have had no clue this even happened if you hadn’t posted it. Can’t help but laugh at the “get a life…go (to) bed” comment…sounds like someone needs to take their own advice to me :)

Did they ever find out the name of the victim? I am very worried that it was a friend of mine and I keep hearing rumors that it was him. @ get a life, go to bed. Your an ass. Instead of talking a bunch of crap when you hear about a tragedy such as this you should be in prayer for the victim and their families as this is a horrible situation. What happened to people having compassion for neighbor? I don’t agree w/ these crazy and not so random acts of violence I still grieve for the victims and their families.

An ID is not likely to be made public before Monday – we haven’t even gotten an official news release (which KCSO is really good about, on weekdays) about the incident itself. Medical Examiner updates their reports on weekday afternoons. Any new info we get, we’ll publish an updated story, though it will be easier to find on our White Center site

I live near Holy Family and I didn’t hear a thing lastnight. Thanks for the update though. It’s great to be informed and know whats going on around the neighborhood. I love this site and how concerned everyone is with their communities. Keep up the good work!
