Update: West Seattle Bridge crash scene cleared

10:33 PM: Avoid The Bridge – there’s a multicar crash on the westbound side @ Admiral. 11:38 PM: The scene is said to start just west of Admiral, which is where drivers heading westbound were diverted. 12:44 AM UPDATE: The scene’s now clear, and traffic’s moving normally for the entire western stretch. No details on any injuries from the crash, but the emergency call didn’t progress beyond “motor vehicle accident” on the 911 log – suggesting no life-threatening injuries.

We just came through there… we saw about 6 cop cars. Looks really bad.

We just excited on Admiral headed up the hill and there were over a dozen police cars, closing all lanes.

    What gives?

We were driving west bound on the bridge just before Admiral Way exit were we got off and a dark four door SUV zoomed past us at over 100 mph in the far left lane. I do not think he would be able to make the curve plus there were two vehicles just making turn in each lane. We went off our exit before they all met but came on here to see if there was an accident and saw this. I hope the others are okay… have police contact if need a statement. Happy New Year everyone please be safe for the sack of your well being and others.

The accident involves at least 5 – 6 vehicles. The accident stretches all the way from the Admiral exit all the way up to 35th. Cars were all spread out. Lots of Police and other emergency vehicles on scene.

I know there are probably many reasons I am not aware of that this idea would be shot down but.. I do wish they would put some sort of barrier down the middle of that stretch of Admiral. The slightest error on a driver’s part, and the high speeds that people seem to be unable to control themselves from doing up and down that road, will eventually cause a horrifically fatal head on collision.

I hope everyone is ok from this wreck.
