Northwest Hope and Healing expects more than 1,000 runners and walkers for the second annual Alki Beach 5K Walk/Run (WSB sponsor) this Sunday – wswllicon3.pngstill time to sign up – just go here – you’re helping NWHH help breast-cancer patients. Meantime – not sure yet what you’re doing tonight? Rainbow Bingo returns to the Senior Center of West Seattle tonight (doors open 5 and there’s a ukulele pre-show!), and it’s Family Fun Friday at Hiawatha Community Center as well as Family Skate Night at Alki Community Center, and Family Night at the West Seattle Family YMCA (WSB sponsor), as well as KISS Pre-Concert-Ticket-Sale Party night at Feedback Lounge (WSB sponsor). Also this weekend – Tibbetts UMC‘s centennial and two food drives, just part of more than FIFTY events/activities in the West Seattle Weekend Lineup, brought to you by Skylark Cafe and Club – read on!

ALL WEEKEND: Artworks by Gail Corbit, will be featured through the month of September at the West Seattle YMCA (WSB sponsor). For the past twenty years Gail has traveled the world, having been strongly influenced by the people and their cultures, her impressions are what you see within her works. The art is done mostly on handmade recycled papers from Nepal, Tibet, India, and other countries. Gouache, Powdered Chinese, Watercolours, and China Inks, using these as mixed media.

FRIDAY-SATURDAY-SUNDAY: West Seattle High Class of 2010 – Sept. 25, 26 and 27 BARNES and NOBLE Bookfair Fundraiser for *GRAD NIGHT * (Ptsa) Most any purchase made in-stores (not on-line) at any Barnes and Noble WITH the attached voucher or at least the voucher number [10001295] on the voucher, will GIVE BACK up to 15% to WSHS PTSA to keep our kids safe on Grad Night 2010, June 16th. Your purchases (think school required reading, your next I-can’t-put-it-down novel, holiday purchases, pens, CD’s…[a cup of coffee at Westwood Barnes and Noble only]) may help to save a life on Grad Night. Even smart kids make mistakes, even the most athletic have accidents. Please support this fun, wholesome and worthwhile cause. FRIDAY NIGHT: Rainbow Bingo with a “Fall Sports” theme on Friday, September 25 starting at 7:00 p.m. for donation of $15 in advance and $20 at door. Doors open at 5:00 p.m. with food, beverages, entertainment and viewing of decorated prize baskets. Participants are encouraged to wear clothing to fit the Sport theme. Bingo games start at 7:00 pm with celebrity caller Sylvia O’Stayformore assisted by the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence, and there will be an Auction, Split the Pot, and much more. Reservations only with prepayment of cash or credit card.

FRIDAY NIGHT: Hiawatha Community Center presents Family Play Day 9/25/2009, 6-8 pm. Ages 5 and older. Families will enjoy games, obstacle course and activities all geared toward active play.
